# How to Generate a Document With AVA

AVA can generate Print documents from any record in your connected platforms.

**Step 1: Tell AVA what you need**

> "Generate a contract for the Acme Corp project using our Standard Agreement template."

> "Create an invoice for QuickBooks order #4521 using the Invoice template."

If you are not sure which template to use:

> "What Print templates do we have?"

AVA will list available templates with a brief description of each.

**Step 2: AVA pulls the data**

AVA finds the record you specified, maps your data to the template variables, and generates the document. For most documents this takes under 10 seconds.

**Step 3: Preview and download**

AVA shows you a preview link. Click it to review the document before downloading. If something looks wrong — a field is blank, a variable did not populate — tell AVA what you see and she will diagnose the issue.

**Step 4: Download or send**

> "Download this as PDF."
> "Email this to the client at acme@example.com."
> "Generate this same document for all 12 open projects."

AVA handles all three. Bulk generation runs in the background and delivers a download link when complete.

**If a variable is blank**

The most common cause is a missing field value on the source record. AVA will tell you which field is empty. Update it in the source platform and regenerate.
